about me
My name is Sophie Lee, and I live in England. I have suffered from IBS since I was 12, when I had a terrible attack of food poisoning. I have experienced pretty much the whole range of IBS symptoms, including diarrhea, constipation, bloating, severe spasms and some blinding abdominal pain.
I established this site to try to help other IBS sufferers feel less alone. I also wanted to get the message across that IBS needs to be taken seriously as it can have a huge impact on sufferers' lives.
As well as running this website I am a moderator on the bulletin board of the IBS Self-Help Group. I have a degree in English Literature and a postgraduate diploma in magazine journalism.
My IBS blog gives the latest updates on my own IBS.
Note for journalists: I am happy to receive requests for interviews or to help find IBS volunteers from all over the world through my email newsletter - just use the contact me page.
